Description
Kaimosi Special School was established and founded by missionaries from Quakers Friends church in 1987 with an aim of empowering the disabled people (both mentally and physically challenged) from the communities around. It gives them basic education and hope for their future life and allow them to be self-reliant and integrated into the society.
Currently, the School hosts about 104 disabled people who are children and young adults and ranges from the age of 6 years old to about 32 years old. They are from all parts of Kenya. Most of these people are autistic, with Down's syndrome, mentally challenged, multiple handicapped and epileptic. Therefore they are engaged in different classes according to their disabilities and their level of understanding.
